 President highlights key schemes to promote digital infra From announcing a BPO promotion scheme for the North East to conversion of three core Kisan Credit cards to Rupay cards, President Mukherjee highlighted key schemes to promote digital transactions and entrepreneurship in India.While demonetisation has given an impetus to cashless payments in India, the President of India in his speech on Tuesday said that over 65% of population which is below the age of 35, which is being empowered with various schemes. He expressed his confidence in the outlook for the Indian economy. Here are the highlights on the digital from President Pranab Mukherjee’s Speech on how digital and entrepreneurship schemes will benefit India: # Over 26 crore plus Jan Dhan accounts have been opened for the unbanked during this government’s tenure # 


Three crore Kisan Credit Cards will be converted into RUPAY debit cards soon # Over 20 lakh youth have already benefited national apprenticeship with a budget of Rs 10,000 crore. # UAN web portal has ensured portability of PF accounts # To promote entrepreneurship under ‘Standup India’ scheme, an SC/ST Hubs have been launched with Rs 490 crore allocation #Under the BharatNet Project, Optical Fibre Cables now cover over 75,700 Gram Panchayats #Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana has been launched for promoting entrepreneurship education and training amongst 7 lakh students #Digit Dhan Abhiyan and Common Service Centres are employing over 5 lakh youth in India #Within a few days BHIM has become one of the most popular mobile based payment app in India #The biometric based Aadhar based payment system to be launched soon will usher technological payment revolution in India #Govt has also approved North East BPO promotion scheme for creation of employment opportunitie
